How to Use the Toolbooks

  • You only need one workbook for the whole class!
  • Reproduce maps/graphic organizers or use laptop/overhead projector to display lessons
  • Most lessons take 15 minutes and can be combined to fit the typical 90 minute block schedule
Follow this simple 7 - Step Process
 
Step 1. Review your curriculum and establish the amount of time you can spend on this topic
Step 2. Select the lessons from the table of contents
Step 3. Begin with a lecture, graphic organizer or timeline to establish the basic facts
Step 4. Utilize other activities and brain games to engage the students and develop higher level skills
Step 5. Conclude with a group analysis that provides practice in all 6 levels of Bloom
Step 6. Administer the tests to assess learning, and adapt teaching as necessary
Step 7. Assign homework using the internet links, including political cartoons
